For the Christian, prayer is a non-negotiable. It is the heart of the life in the spirit, the engine-pump, that keeps the spirit-life flowing.
Prayer facilitates the supply of Spirit of Jesus Christ, the essential elixir for living the victorious life in this world ravaged by sin and death. The dynamic force that causes things to happen against the natural course.
I have seen situations turn around miraculously at the onset of passionate heart-felt prayers. Of a truth, such prayers are effective, availing much through the dynamic working of the power of God. The destroying power of sickness, sin and hell held at bay by the force of the spirit of faith and power released through prayers.
In prayer, we show forth our faith in the ability of God, the insufficiency of our power, and surrender to the will of God. We are both weakened and strengthened, as we lay all of who we are and take up all of who God is.
When we understand that prayer is communion, a fellowship with God, we realize the foolishness of prayerlessness. To choose not to pray is to live without a connection to the source of life. A branch cannot abide on its own.
A call to prayer should be the greatest joy of the believer. To be one in spirit with father and experience His warmth and loving embrace, soothing every fear, strengthening every limb. There is no greater desire for the son that to be with the father
In prayer we focus our gaze God, His being, His person and His ability. In the light of that gaze, our problems, worries and doubts fade away. For in His light, we clearly, we come to understand that the only thing that matters is Him and His presence.
When we pray, we come before father, not in our righteousness, but in the righteousness of Christ. We are assured of our right-standing with God. We are His children, the love children of a love God. We are not held back by condemnation or doubt, we rest always in knowledge that we are the beloved of God.
We come in praise and in adoration of the Father working all things by His Spirit through the Son.
